專精於 Ska 與 Reggae 的大師級長號手、傳奇 Ska 樂團 The Specials 成員 – Rico Rodriguez，上週五於倫敦過世，享年 80 歲。
Rico Rodriguez 第一次出現在 The Special 的音樂中，是於 1979 年 The Specials 翻唱 Dandy Livingstone 的〈A Message to You, Rudy〉；Rico Rodriguez 出生於古巴，並且在幼年時隨家人遷往牙買加居住。在 1977 年時，Rico Rodriguez 便發行了個人專輯《Man From Wareika》，也因此吸引了 The Specials 的注意；Rico Rodriguez 同時也曾加入過 Jools Holland 的「Rhythm and Blues Orchestra」。
