B. B. King 的死，震驚了樂壇，饒舌天王 Jay Z 在免費的演唱會上向這位藍調傳奇默哀；同時 Jay Z 也以即興的饒舌，痛罵了 Spotify、Youtube。
Jay Z 為了宣傳他的串流音樂平台「TIDAL」，他在紐約舉辦了一場免費的演唱會，觀眾是從所有「TIDAL」的註冊會員中抽出的幸運兒。在演唱會上，Jay Z 深深地向傳奇藍調樂手 B. B. King 默哀。
除了悼念 B. B. King 以外，Jay Z 不忘耍起他饒舌歌手的本色，狠狠的以 freestyle 向 Spotify 還有 Youtube 噴話，他這樣唱到：
I feel like YouTube is the biggest culprit, Them niggas pay you a tenth of what you supposed to get… Tidal, my own lane, same difference, Oh niggas is skeptical about they own shit… Spotify worth nine billion and they ain’t say shit!
Jay Z 之所以這樣，其實是因為日前 Spotify 的共同創辦人 Martin Lorentzon 在接受訪問時，被問到對於 Jay Z 的「TIDAL」有甚麼想法時，Martin 很酸地回道：「如果我現在有 99 個麻煩纏身時，Jay Z 絕對不是其中任何一個」，意思也就是：你甚麼咖啊？學人搞串流音樂？
於此同時，Jay Z 不忘發生在美國的慘案，三位遭到警方暴力對待而喪命的黑人受害者，Freddie Gray、Mike Brown 與 Trayvon Martin。Jay Z 在演唱會上即興的唱道：
Well I can’t tell, how the way they killed Freddie Gray right, Shot down Mike Brown how they did Tray right?
上個禮拜三，Jay Z 偕同妻子 Beyonce 前往巴爾的摩，與 Freddie Gray、Mike Brown 的家屬見面，關心案情發展。
