Oasis兄弟檔兩人從來不諱言講出自己心裡的真實感受，這次Noel Gallagher受邀參加英國Ivor Novellos詞曲創作人獎的頒獎儀式，而他會出席的原因是因為他覺得Ivor Novellos Awards沒有邀請One Direction出席，所以這個獎項一定很有公信力。
一年一度的Ivor Novellos Awards頒獎儀式5月16號在倫敦的Grosvenor House酒店舉行，這個獎項是專門針對作詞作曲等音樂項目的專業獎項。
他在接受訪問提到：「這裡沒有任何像是One Direction的小丑被邀請，所以這是不錯的獎。」他還提到他不是針對青少年男孩團體的仇視，他補充說：「這不是你穿什麼衣服，多靈活的跳舞或你多有名。這是關於歌曲的，歌曲要永遠被傳唱下去你就必須要有好歌詞。」
