當然,依照各媒體的屬性,排行榜的結果總是”各有其趣”.完全根據銷售量與電台播放率數字統計結果的Billboard雜誌排行,是音樂圈公認最權威的結果.其他雜誌或網站憑據各自屬性,或由專屬樂評人與讀者評選代表性的年終排行,大部分是參考或者完全不參考銷售數字.僅以藝術性為標準.例如”Pitchfork.com”.所推薦與評選的結果,就包含大量市場陌生的藝人專集.卻也成為樂迷認識與收藏音樂的重要參考指標.
